Chiang Mai Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Day Tour | Feed, Walk & Bathe Elephants
Begin your day with a convenient hotel pick-up in Chiang Mai before travelling to an ethical elephant sanctuary nestled in the peaceful countryside north of the city.
Upon arrival, receive an introduction from your local guide about the sanctuary's conservation efforts and learn about the history, behavior, and daily care of the rescued elephants. Change into traditional Karen clothing before preparing fresh fruits for the elephants.
Meet the elephants in their natural environment, where you'll have the opportunity to feed them, observe their behaviors, and interact with them respectfully while they roam freely.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the sanctuary before preparing nutritious sticky rice mixed with herbs, specially made for the elephants. Feed them handmade sticky rice balls and seasonal fruits while learning more about their health, nutrition, and individual personalities.
Walk with the elephants to a clean water pond, where they can cool off naturally. Join the elephant bathing session by gently helping to bathe and scrub the elephants while allowing them the freedom to enjoy the water at their own pace. Observe them as they splash, play, throw dirt, scratch themselves, and relax in their natural surroundings.
After the bathing experience, unwind with tea, coffee, and seasonal fruit before saying goodbye to the elephants and beginning the journey back to Chiang Mai, where you will be transferred comfortably to your hotel.
What to Bring: Hat, towel, swimsuit, walking shoes, sunscreen, a change of clothes, insect repellent, and a camera (optional).
